This 3-day safari from Zanzibar takes you to the vast wilderness of Nyerere National Park, one of Africa’s largest protected wildlife areas. After a scenic flight from Zanzibar, you will begin your adventure with exciting game drives through diverse landscapes of rivers, woodlands, and open plains, home to elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and many bird species. The safari includes a full day of wildlife exploration in the park, with opportunities to discover the rich ecosystem around the Rufiji River. On the final day, you will enjoy a relaxed morning before flying back to Zanzibar, completing an unforgettable safari experience in southern Tanzania.

Day 01: Pick Up from Your Zanzibar Hotel

Your safari adventure begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer to the airport for a scheduled light aircraft flight to Nyerere National Park, one of Africa’s largest protected wildlife areas and part of the historic Selous Game Reserve ecosystem. Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide who will provide a short briefing before beginning your first exciting game drive through the park. During the drive you may spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, lions, and a wide variety of bird species while enjoying the stunning landscapes of rivers, woodlands, and open plains. Later in the afternoon, you will proceed to your safari lodge or tented camp for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay in the heart of the African wilderness.

Day 02: Full Day Game Drive Adventure in Nyerere National Park

After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will depart for a full day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park. The park is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including large populations of elephants, African wild dogs, lions, leopards, zebras, and hippos, as well as over 400 species of birds. Your guide will take you through different habitats such as the famous Rufiji River ecosystem, where animals often gather to drink and cool off. A picnic lunch will be served in a scenic spot within the park, allowing you to relax while surrounded by nature. After lunch, the adventure continues with more wildlife sightings and opportunities for photography before returning to your lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Morning Game Activity and Flight Back to Zanzibar

On your final day, you may enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the lodge followed by a short morning game drive or leisure time while taking in the beautiful natural surroundings of Nyerere National Park. Later, you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, our driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you back to your hotel, marking the end of your memorable 3-day safari experience filled with wildlife encounters and unforgettable moments in one of Tanzania’s most spectacular national parks.
