Our 2-day Safari from the Island of Zanzibar to Selous (Nyerere) National Park-one of Africaβs largest Protected Areas offers views of numerous exceptional wildlife species that you might not find in other parts of the Continent. With just 2 days /1 night, you will be able to discover almost everything that the African wilderness offers.
Unlike other protected areas like Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, and many others that draw crowds, Nyerere National Park enjoys seclusion and no crowds.
Day 1: Zanzibar Airport β Selous (Nyerere) National Park
Pick up from your place of residence in Zanzibar or City Center in the morning with packed breakfast, transfer to the Airport, then embark on the 50 minutes to one hour flight to Selous (Nyerere) National Park. At Mtemere Airstrip in Selous / Nyerere National Park, you will meet, greet and be introduced to our driver guide who will be more than excited to unleash knowledge about this park, landscapes and animals during breathtaking game drive the whole day.
Afterwards, drive to check-in at the place of stay. On the first day of wildlife exploration, the common species during the Nyerere Park game drive are wildebeests, impalas, Cape buffaloes, Masai giraffes, zebras, lions and so much more. There will also be occasional sighting of African wild dogs, African bush elephants and cheetahs in addition to expecting rare views of leopards, Black rhinos and spotted hyenas among others.
Day 2: Nyerere National Park-Zanzibar Airport
Start your second and last day of the safari with lovely breakfast, then embark on the boat ride along River Rufiji where you will come face to face with gigantic Nile crocodile and Hippo populations as well as up to 100 of the 350 bird species in this park.
After this adventurous trip, we will drive to Mtemere airstrip for your direct flight back to Zanzibar Airport. Then be transferred to your hotel or wait for your booked flight back home. This marks the end of our 2 days Selous (Nyerere) National Park.
