Day 01: Zanzibar Hotel Transfer to Saadani National Park
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Zanzibar, where our driver will transfer you to the departure point for your journey to Saadani National Park. You will travel from Zanzibar to the mainland by scheduled boat or flight, enjoying scenic views of the Indian Ocean coastline along the way. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide who will brief you about the park before beginning your first exciting game drive. Saadani National Park is unique because it is the only wildlife park in Tanzania bordering the ocean, offering a rare combination of beach and bush landscapes. During the game drive you may encounter elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, and various bird species. After a rewarding afternoon exploring the park, you will proceed to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Day 02: Full Day Game Drive in Saadani National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, you will head out for a full day of wildlife exploration in Saadani National Park. Your guide will drive you through different habitats of the park including savannah plains, coastal bush, and riverine areas where wildlife gathers. Keep your camera ready as you search for animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, wildebeests, and many species of birds. Around midday you will enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic location inside the park while continuing to enjoy the natural surroundings. In the afternoon, you may also take an optional boat safari along the Wami River, where you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and many water birds from a different perspective. This relaxing boat excursion offers fantastic photography opportunities and a peaceful way to experience the park. Later in the evening you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 03:Morning Game Viewing in Saadani and Return to Zanzibar
On the final day of your safari, you will enjoy an early morning breakfast followed by a short morning game drive in Saadani National Park. Early hours are one of the best times to see wildlife as animals are more active before the day becomes warm. After this final opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the park and spot more wildlife, you will return to the lodge for check-out and transfer to the airstrip or boat departure point. From there you will travel back to Zanzibar where our driver will be waiting to transfer you comfortably back to your hotel, marking the end of your memorable 3-day Saadani safari from Zanzibar.
