05:00 β 06:00: Hotel Pick-Up & Transfer to the Airport
Your safari begins early in the morning with a hotel pick-up anywhere in Zanzibar. Our professional driver will meet you and ensure a comfortable transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. During this time, you can relax and enjoy the scenic drive. Upon arrival at the airport, our team will assist you with check-in and boarding for your domestic flight, providing all necessary guidance so your journey starts smoothly.
06:30 β 07:45: Domestic Flight to Mikumi & Arrival
You will take a domestic flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi. The flight is short but offers stunning aerial views of the Tanzanian coastline, turquoise waters, and lush landscapes. Upon landing at the Mikumi Airstrip, you will be greeted by your professional safari guide. They will give a full briefing about the park, the wildlife you may see, safety guidelines, and what to expect during the game drive.
08:00 β 12:30: Morning Game Drive Experience
The morning game drive starts immediately after the briefing. Mikumi National Park is known for its incredible wildlife diversity, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and many bird species. Your guide will take you through different areas of the park, pointing out animal behaviors, plants, and the ecosystem. Youβll have plenty of time for photographs and close-up wildlife observation, making the most of the early hours when animals are most active.
12:30 β 13:30: Picnic Lunch in the Bush
Around midday, we stop at a designated picnic area within the park. Here you will enjoy a packed lunch, including fresh and locally prepared dishes, along with non-alcoholic drinks. While eating, you can take in the peaceful environment of the park, surrounded by nature, and reflect on the wildlife sightings of the morning.
15:30 β 17:00: Transfer to Airstrip & Flight Back to Zanzibar
By late afternoon, itβs time to leave the park. You will be transferred back to Mikumi Airstrip for your domestic flight back to Zanzibar. On the flight, you can relax and reflect on the dayβs experiences. Once you land in Zanzibar at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, our driver will meet you for the transfer back to your hotel.
17:30 β 18:30: Hotel Drop-Off β End of Safari
You will arrive back at your hotel in the early evening, marking the end of your Mikumi National Park day trip. The package is designed to provide a full safari experience in one day, with seamless transfers, a professional guide, and opportunities to see a variety of wildlife up close.
